Someone call Carson. Sesame Street is spoofing ‘Downton Abbey.’

Hold on to your crumpets, people.

Sesame Street is spoofing Downton Abbey in a new episode airing Monday, Feb. 4. on PBS.

Called “Upside Downton Abbey,” the parody stars the Dowager Countess of Grantham and Carson the butler, and has all the melodrama we heart so hard it makes us wish we lived in Edwardian England – stiff empire collars, Mrs. Patmore’s steak-and-kidney pie, British accents, Carson’s bushy eyebrows, Lady Violet’s hat – with all the educational hilarity only Sesame Street can dream up.

Watch the full short here:

Brilliant, no?

Here’s thinking Masterpiece‘s Carson would approve, even if he only admitted it to Mrs. Hughes behind closed doors.

Yes! The first time I saw Downton, each scene felt like literature. The best movies, books are always the ones that focus on the subtle drama of the every day. Incredible post.
